Jason A. Bonds formerly of Malgre Tout Primary School receives GUTSY’s Character ambassador Award.

Jason Bonds returned to Malgre Tout Primary School during our recent visit to Guyana. This time, he stood beside his former principal, Miss Peters, to receive one of the first GUTSY Character Ambassador Awards.
Jason was involved in every stage of the GUTSY Character Pillars initiative when it launched at Malgre Tout. He became one of the program’s student ambassadors, bringing the Six Pillars of Character® into his conduct, schoolwork and relationships with others.
He went on to become Malgre Tout’s top-performing student in Guyana’s 2024 National Grade Six Assessment. Now in Christ Church secondary school, Jason continues to earn a place on the honor roll with strong grades and punctual attendance. His teachers and peers know him as someone they can depend on.
GUTSY stands for Guyanese United To Serve our Youth. Since 2019, we have worked with educators and students across Guyana through the CHARACTER COUNTS!® framework. The Character Ambassador Award is our highest student honor, recognizing young people who have spent at least three years in the program and demonstrated exemplary character, academic achievement and leadership within their school communities.
Jason describes GUTSY’s place in his life in his own words:
“I owe this personal achievement mostly to the GUTSY program, which nurtured the pillars of life skills within me and made me who I am today.”
As a GUTSY Character Ambassador, Jason will now help carry that work forward through We Are GUTSY, Guyana Inc.
