Ashliana Persaud, Providence Primary School cops one of 4 top prizes in the GUTSY Character Champion Initiative.

After a few hours’ sleep it was off to Providence Primary School on the east bank of the Demerara River. We were met there by an enthusiastic Headmistress, Miss Nandkisore with Miss Alison Johnson, a Grade 2 teacher and the leader of the CHARACTER COUNTS program. While there we presented a CHARACTER CHAMPION award and gift certificate to Ashliana Persaud, a Grade 6 student for her brilliant essay on Trustworthiness. Ashliana was one of 14 students across Guyana who won awards for demonstrating how they live the Six Pillars of Trustworthiness, Respect, Responsibility, Fairness, Caring, and Citizenship. We Are GUTSY Inc. is a registered 501 (C) (3) Not for Profit Organization that teachers character skills pro bono to schools in Guyana.
